Privacy policy
In preparation — published in full before this site goes live
Not yet a policy
This page is structure only. The policy text has deliberately not been written: what it must say depends on the jurisdiction G & S operates in, what data is actually collected once a form endpoint is connected, which processors handle it, and how long it is kept. Published unread, invented policy text would misstate the company's obligations and give visitors false assurances about their own data. Each section below names what belongs in it. It needs drafting or review by someone qualified in the relevant jurisdiction before launch.
Who we are
The company responsible for this website and for any information you send through it.
To be drafted
The company’s registered name and office, its registration number, and who to ask for on a data question.
What this site collects
The inventory below is factual: it is what the site as built actually does. The enquiry forms now post to this site’s own endpoint, which emails the office and keeps no copy on the server — so data is transmitted, and the clause below reflects that rather than the earlier email-app handoff.
Data inventory, as built
- Three forms collect fields
- Contact: name, email, phone, project type, message. Quote: project type, size or scope, location, start timing, optional budget band, optional notes, name, email, phone, contact preference. Careers: name, email, phone, role, optional message. Service pages carry a short enquiry form with name, email, phone and message.
- How submission works
- Each form posts to this site's own endpoint, which formats the answers and emails them to the office. The message is not stored on the server; it is sent and discarded. Nothing else is transmitted by this website.
- Analytics and cookies
- None. No analytics product, no advertising tags, no cookies set by this site.
- Browser storage
- Two
sessionStoragekeys, both on the visitor's own device and both cleared when the tab closes: one holds part-completed quote answers so a reload does not lose them, one carries the page-transition state between pages. - Third-party requests
- Fonts and photography are fetched from external hosts, which see the visitor's IP address as a consequence. The contact page embeds a Google Maps frame, which makes Google a third party that receives a request from your browser when that page loads.
To be drafted
Every service this site runs on once it is live — the host, the form endpoint or email provider, any analytics added later, and the font and image hosts, each named.
Why we use it
To be drafted
Each use of your information listed separately: replying to an enquiry, preparing a quotation, running a build contract, and handling a job application. Marketing appears here only if it genuinely happens.
Legal basis
Whether this section is required at all, and what it must contain, depends on the jurisdiction. It is left empty rather than guessed.
To be drafted
The lawful basis relied on for each of those uses, in the terms the applicable data protection regime uses.
How long we keep it
To be drafted
How long each kind of record is kept, taken separately: enquiries that go nowhere, quotations, live contract records and job applications. Construction records carry statutory minimums tied to the defects and liability periods.
Your rights
To be drafted
The rights available to you, how to exercise them, the time we commit to replying in, and the authority a complaint can be made to. Rights that do not apply will not be listed.
Cookies and local storage
As built, this site sets no cookies. It uses two short-lived sessionStorage entries on your own device, described in the inventory above, and both disappear when you close the tab. There is no tracking and no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
To be drafted
This site sets no analytics, embedded video or chat widget today. If any is ever added, this section changes first, and a consent mechanism with it.
Third-party content
Fonts and photographs load from external hosts, and the contact page will hold a map embed once the office address is confirmed. Each of those providers sees the request your browser makes, including your IP address.
To be drafted
Every third party named, with a link to its own privacy information, once the final font, image and map providers are settled.
Changes to this policy
To be drafted
How changes are published, and how the date at the top of this page is kept current.
